Installation served as a staged space for performative project "silver lining", created during my residency stay in Ghana.
- I wanted to create a sanctuary that creates an intimate environment which puts visitors in close proximity to the process of performance. I wanted to create a space where the visitor is not only an audience but becomes a participant.
The entrance - a hall - is also an exit which serves an order to participate in performance since there’s no other way to enter the event. At the end of the hall I set a barrier inspired by entrances of the mosque which gives an order to bow. Subsequently the participant emerges in a spacious space of the main and central part of the installation.
Huge thanks, hug and kiss to the person who dug holes, sweat blood, to make this installation real. Percy Nii Nortey as a main technical support, creator, motivator and partner, thank you for your powers.
