"visit without invitation" is born from my upbringing in a border town. Drawing from the symbolism of partitions and borders, the installation manifests as a collection of curtains saturating the room.

Sound installation - reminiscent of daily household life, interact with the fabric barriers, aiming to challenge viewers to move beyond mere observation. In mirroring the invisible barriers of daily life, the installation aims to encourage viewers to perceive beyond the visible, inducing reflections on the complex truths that lie beneath the surface.

Installation serves as essay questioning the dichotomy of private and public, visible and unseen, known and unknown, encapsulating my personal quest for understanding not just of myself but of the complexities of societies and their (dys)functionalities.

The installation is a part of an exhibition project titled "Built on a Landslide" that aims to challenge perceptions of public and private realms, encouraging contemplation on the delicate interplay between personal and collective identity within domestic walls. The exhibition questions the solidity of what we've been taught, exploring the fragility of belonging, background, home, and community in the context of today’s Western societies. It invites us to continually gather, question, learn, and unlearn for our collective well-being.
